365 days to better photography

Day 12

January 12, 2011

Today I was playing with shutter speed and decided to do the week 2 assignment from this tutorial.

First, I placed black construction paper behind my kitchen sink to add contrast (and hide my ugly tile…have I mentioned I hate my sink.  It made of white plastic material and it’s impossible to get stains out of it). Next, I place a vase upside down in the sink.  Finally,  I changed my camera to TV (shutter priority) placed it on my tripod, and started adjusting my shutter speed and shooting.  I also adjusted my ISO at the higher shutter speeds.  The only post processing I did to these files is a slight sharpening and adding the water mark.  The first few are pretty blown but you can still see the effect of the slower shutter speed.
