Day 133

May 13, 2011

This was delivered by UPS today it’s my Mother’s Day present from Aaron and Blake (I’m the slacker who ordered it late, not Aaron) I LOVE it.  It will make carrying my camera so much easier and my shoulders and neck won’t hurt after long outings.

Today the weather was beautiful again.  I noticed these growths on our tree in the backyard.  They were there last year but I never figured out what they were.

Not all the leaves are affected and from what I can see there aren’t as many high up

So I went to Google.  Apparently they are galls caused by insects.  I wonder if that little bug is responsible for them.

I am ashamed to admit that I don’t know what type of tree this is.  It gets pretty yellow flowers along the underside of its leaves during the summer.  If you know what it is leave me a comment.

and more lilacs.  They’re starting to die so you won’t have to see many more pictures

On to the Garden

RadishLettuce in dire need of thinningSpinach, also in need of thinningCilantroMy empty strawberry pot.  Hopefully that will be remedied this weekend.  The plants from last year did not survive the winterI’m trying to watermark in Lightroom.  If the picture doesn’t need additional editing in Photoshop Elements it saves me a step. It looks like I’ll have to tweak it since it’s barely visible on the darker pictures.

Day 123

May 3, 2011

Happy Birthday to my little brother!

I don’t know about you but I’m getting a little tired of garden shots.  It is what it is and I’m to lazy to go out and find something fascinating every day.  Blake is adorable but he’s still refusing to look at the camera most of the time sooo…

Transplanted Basil, Rosemary, lettuce sprouts (yay between those and the radishes maybe just maybe our first attempt at gardening won’t be a total failure) and more lilacs because they’re pretty.

We put up the Easter window clings and the lilacs and grape hyacinths are coming along.
