Day 185

July 4, 2011

Fourth of July!!!

We went to our city’s celebration!  It was so much fun.  We ate fair food.  Wandered around.  Relaxed in the grass. Watched the fireworks (slept in the next day).  It was a wonderful day.

Now clearly I didn’t take these next pictures but I did set it up before I handed the camera to Aaron.  I also did the post processing.

I LOVE these pictures.

LOVE them and love the little boy in them.
Here’s my attempt at fireworks with out a tripod.  Not awesome but much better than most of the others I took.

Day 60

March 1,  2011

Here’s a long post.  After music class this morning Blake and I went to the zoo.

Blake had ice cream.

At the entrance I decided to play with the light from the sun behind a giraffe statue.

Then we stopped at Lovely Confections Bakery-the best cupcake shop/bakery in town.  My pictures don’t do the deliciousness justice.

I ate the Strawberry one

and stole bites of the Salted Carmel and Chocolate-Vanilla
They were great!!!!

Day 52

February 21, 2011

Today has been a long but fun day.  First, Blake and I went to a meet up at a coffee shop with another mom and baby.  Then since we were close to Aaron’s work we picked him up and had lunch.  Then we ran to the toy store to pick up a present for our neighbors first birthday.  We barely made it to his party in time.  It was fun with cake and ice cream and presents.  (And some of my better pictures of the day but I don’t want to put them up without his parents’ permission.)  Aaron got home and we ran over to the park for a few minutes to try out Blake’s new kite.  It was cold and getting dark so the pictures aren’t awesome but we had fun.

Day 51

February 20, 2011

Just a few quick pictures of The Babe.

Day 49

February 18, 2011

Today Blake and I met up with a couple other moms and kids at the Colorado Railroad Museum.  It was our first meet up as part of a meet up group that recently formed in my area for moms interested in photography.  It was fun.  I feel like I didn’t get very many good pictures because I was to busy chasing the babe.  Plus the light was very harsh and Blake pulled his recent “look anywhere but at mommy as soon as she even thinks about pointing the camera” attitude.

Part of an outdoor model train.

These are two of the only salvageable pictures I got of Blake.  I can’t figure out how to completely get rid of the green color cast.

He got really dirty playing around in the dirt with the other kids.  He had fun!

Day 25

January 25, 2011

Today I bought a throw blanket at Target to use as a background.  Plus, my kid is cute!

‘m getting better at taking and editing pictures.  I know they’re not perfect, the focus isn’t always in the right place and in a perfect world where my thrifty fifty wasn’t so tight in the only room that gets decent light I would have placed him farther from the background, but I’m really enjoying documenting the cuteness of my little boy 🙂

Day 21

January 21, 2011

Today we played with the blanket my Aunt Kathy (Blake’s Great-Aunt) sent us for Christmas.  It was fun taking these pictures and I actually go him to look directly at me by shouting “ribbit ribbit” over and over again.

Yes my child is under there. He was having fun.

I wish I hadn’t cut the eyes of the frog out of this picture but Blake’s expression is too cute not to post.

Day 20

January 20, 2011

Today we went to story time at the local library.  The theme today was cowboys and girls and the craft was these adorable hats.  The light was okay but with all the commotion I switched back to Aperture Priority.  Here’s Blake showing off his hat

I think I need to have my screen calibrated or maybe my phone is off.  When I edited these in Lightroom and Photoshop Elements 8 the color looked decent.  Now and on my phone it seems gray.  There are so many aspects of photography and post processing I never even imagined.  Eventually I’ll figure this all out.

Day 19

January 19, 2011

Today was fun.  The toddler kind of cooperated and I got some cute picture. I should title this post the many faces of Blake.

I have a feeling this isn’t the last I will be seeing of this particular expression.  He doesn’t even know what it means (yet) but he’s master the eye roll with disturbing accuracy.

When Blake got tired of the camera I moved on to the envelopes we’ve mad to stuff with Valentines.

All of these were shot in manual (Yay!)

Day 17

January 17, 2011

I took a small step outside of my comfort zone and spent most of the time shooting in full Manual.  It was kind of difficult, especially with a squirmy subject who looks anywhere but at you when you break out the camera. (Little Stinker…I see bribery in my future).  I’m learning and becoming slightly more comfortable with it every time I take away the training wheels of Aperture Priority (and hey I’ve come a very very long way from shooting everything in full auto).  These picture aren’t perfect but my child is cute. 🙂

My sweet lazy dog pretending he’s anything other than a giant wimp. (Note:he was afraid of the grass when he was a puppy)

Throwing a ball and looking anywhere but at the camera.

Hey he’s looking at me!!!!!!!  I think this is the only picture of direct eye contact today!

and where back to looking away

This is the only one I’m posting today that wasn’t taken in Manual and further it’s proof that my child doesn’t look at the camera.  I promise I’m not torturing him.  He even says “smile” when I break it out but then quickly looks a different direction.
